The new study plan of the MIA/ULP (Integrated Master in Architecture) is according the recomendations of the UIA/UNESCO Charter for Architectural Education., namelly in what it concerns to the interaction between practice and teaching, to research "founded on project work, construction methods, as well as academic disciplines", to project as "a synthesis of acquired knowledge and concomitant skills" and finally to the consideration that project, as a central piece in the education of an architect, should have a substantial weight in the total of the programme.

Technical and professional skills that I will acquire
The end of the cycle of studies is to form generalist architects capable of solving the potential contradictions between the different demands, society's needs and the environment and the transformations of the territory, in all its aspects and geographic frameworks, which is recognized as a new approach. The Architecture training should ensure: 1. Design projects that meet the aesthetic requirements and technical requirements. 2. Knowledge of history and the theory of architecture, as well as of the arts, technologies and the humanities. 3. Adequate knowledge of urban planning and planning issues. 4. Faculty of understanding the profession of architect and its role in society. 5. Knowledge of the methods of research and preparation of the construction project. 6. Knowledge of the problems of structural design and construction. 7. Development of reading ability and critical interpretation of reality.
