31.10.25 - 15h57Jacinto Godinho, lecturer at the Department of Communication Sciences at ECATI, has been distinguished with the most prestigious Portuguese Journalism award.
At the Gazeta Awards, in the Television category, Jacinto Godinho and Carlos Oliveira, authors of the documentary “Os Olhos da Revolução”, broadcast on RTP 1 on 26 April 2024, and premiered at the Fernando Lopes screening room at Lusófona University - Lisbon University Centre, with the presence and commentary of Adelino Gomes and Fernando Matos Silva, drew from the public television archive to conduct an investigation into the first images of 25 April 1974.
The footage in question was captured by a French television crew who knew of the coup in advance, by a RTP camera operator and assistant who went into the field on their own initiative, and by an amateur filmmaker.
A “story” uncovered half a century after the April Revolution, thanks to the excellence of investigative journalism within our teaching staff.
Congratulations to the authors!
