On 5 June 2024, Lusófona University hosted the workshop "Uncomplicating Recycling: Practices for Separating Waste", an initiative integrated into the Sustainability Days. The action, led by Professor Joana Lage, aimed to involve the academic community in promoting more effective and enlightening recycling practices.
During the workshop, essential topics were discussed, such as the importance of properly separating waste and the methods used by the competent organisations to do so. Professor Lage also clarified several common myths associated with the recycling process and guided participants through a practical dynamic to teach correct waste separation.
The event enabled participants to gain a deeper understanding of recycling procedures and to demystify misconceptions that often jeopardise the effectiveness of recycling. Practical interaction and the direct application of knowledge were highly valued, facilitating more effective learning.
