01.03.24 - 12h08Nóisi - International Civil Protection Day
The celebration of International Civil Protection Day seeks to alert and raise awareness of the importance of civil protection in safeguarding human life, property and cultural and environmental heritage, in the face of the occurrence of serious accidents and catastrophes, and to pay tribute to all your agents.
In the current global context, risks such as the wars in Ukraine and the Gaza Strip, climate change, devastation of forests such as the Amazon, excessive urbanization, social development, poverty, new technologies and migratory movements can at a glance change the lives of all of us.
Celebrating Civil Protection Day is renewing the commitment to defense and protection of the territory, natural, cultural and historical heritage. In other words, the Protection of Life.
On International Civil Protection Day 2024, Universidade Lusófona, through its Department of Civil Protection and the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Engineering and Technologies, joins the celebration and salutes all its partners in Portugal and abroad, reiterating the commitment to continue contributing to the progress and prestige of Civil Protection as the foundation of modern societies, as well as to the dissemination of knowledge, cooperation and training of increasingly qualified human resources.
