  • Presentation

    Presentation

The Fitness course unit is part of the 1st cycle in Physical Education and Sport. It aims to develop students' knowledge and competencies in the assessment, prescription, and instruction of physical exercise across different fitness settings. The course unit addresses the principles underlying the planning and prescription of group exercise classes, as well as procedures for assessing physical fitness and prescribing exercise in strength and conditioning facilities. Students will develop the ability to assess participants' characteristics and needs, establish appropriate goals, select suitable methods and exercises, and design individualized exercise programmes. The practical component plays a particularly important role, promoting the application of scientific principles of training in the delivery of safe, effective, and appropriately tailored exercise sessions according to participants' different levels of physical fitness and individual goals.
