Since the late 1970s, the management of public organizations has been changing, having adopted models and techniques of business management. The result of this synthesis is known as the New Public Management. This UC reflects this evolution. It deals with the various models of Public Management and their instruments for managing public affairs. The purpose of this course is therefore to give students a global view of public management models.

Objectives
This subject intends to provide the student with the conceptual tools necessary to understand this essential moment of democracy, which is the way in which his Public Management has been organized over the years.
Thus, the syllabus contents were defined around six blocks that provide a theoretical framework that allows students to analyze:
1 - The context in which public management is exercised;
2 - Understand the distinctive nature of public organizations and public management:
3 - Identify and critically analyze the benefits and problems of traditional public administration;
4 - Identify and critically analyze the New Public Management;
5 - Understand the impacts of administrative reforms and their interconnection with the private and social sector.
