Presentation
Presentation
This curricular unit deepens the theoretical and methodological foundations required for a critical understanding of social phenomena and for the development of theoretically grounded and reflective professional practice. It explores the relationship between theory and practice in everyday social work, fostering the acquisition of essential theoretical and operational knowledge for the analysis, planning and development of social interventions. Particular attention is given to theoretical models and intervention methodologies for working with individuals and families, contributing to the development of skills suited to the complexity and diversity of intervention contexts. The curricular unit is coordinated with and complements Social Work Theory and Methodology I and III.

Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
The curricular unit adopts active, participatory and student-centred teaching and learning methodologies, combining theoretical foundations, critical analysis and practical application in social work contexts. Classes include interactive lectures, guided reading and discussion of texts, case analysis, simulations, role-play and collaborative work, fostering autonomy, critical reflection and the development of technical and operational skills. Engagement with professional practice is strengthened through open lectures, contributions from guest practitioners, contact with community settings and the analysis of specific situations involving intervention with individuals and families. The Moodle platform supports the provision of learning resources, the preparation of learning activities and the continuity of students' independent work.
