Presentation
The course Education for Peace and Global Citizenship promotes a critical understanding of the foundations, frameworks and practices associated with Peace Education and Global Citizenship. It addresses their historical, social and political contexts, key concepts, major theoretical approaches, national and international documents, and relevant projects and programmes. The course also connects these areas with mediation, examining their contribution to peacebuilding, responsible global citizenship and the development of a culture of mediation. Students are expected to develop analytical, critical and reflective skills and to apply these frameworks in educational and socio-educational contexts, recognising mediation as a tool for participation, dialogue and social transformation.
