    Objectives

    1 - Outline the main concepts and objectives associated with social change; 2 - Critically analyse the roles of communication and culture in processes of change; 3 - Distinguish between persuasive communication and participatory communication; 4 - Identify social entrepreneurship as an initiative for social change; 5 - Relate Social Entrepreneurship to social responsibility and the emergence of Social Innovation projects; 6 - Recognise social networks, relationships of belonging and collective consciousness as promoters of dialogue and civic engagement; 7 - Develop a critical understanding of the relationship between past and present dynamics and their influence on social problems; 8 - Critically map human experiences associated with post-coloniality, which point to the duty of remembrance and historical redress in addressing social change.

    Teaching methodologies

    The course module will be taught using: Lecture method - presentation of content during classes using multimedia resources and short presentations by guest experts; Interrogative method - facilitating discussions on the course topics; Active method - exploring content through various media (texts, audiovisual materials, etc.), conducting case studies, etc.
