The course aims to provide references and systems of economic thinking that enable students not only to acquire knowledge about key economic issues, but above all to stimulate reflection and critical thinking on economic matters, in order to promote their individual ability to think in terms of the different realities they face.

Economics: what it is. Mental framework for thinking like an economist.
Economic rationality.
Opportunity cost. Cost of capital. Trade-off between profitability and risk.
Fiscal policy and monetary policy. The main instruments of these policies.
Economic growth and development.
Main schools of economic thought.
Objectives
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
Understand economic relationships in human societies.
Reflect critically on the surrounding reality.
Make personal decisions based on economic rationality.
