Presentation
The rapid growth of the internet is providing an expansion territory to informations that also turns the diffusion of processing tools easier. Bioinformatics databases and available software for their treatment will be presented. The theoretical concepts (biological and mathematical) at the origin of these treatments will also be mentionned.

Presential teaching: Theoretical classes are facultative lectures that follow the
defined syllabus and respect the objectives of the CU. Theoretico-practical classes are mandatory
presential classes under the guidance and orientation of a teacher and are intended to practice
techniques described in theoretical lectures with real data.
Requirements to pass the discipline:
1) Continuous evaluation by 2 midterm exams (32,5% + 32,5%) + class attendance 10% + project
elaborated during the classes 25%; final classification equal or superior to 10), with all documents
allowed and computer provided.
Or
2) Theoretico-practical exam by the end of the semester (75% weight) + project elaborated during the
classes 25% (classification equal or superior to 10), with all documents allowed and computer
provided. Students with a minimum classification of 9,5 for a component at a previous evaluation
(continuous evaluation or previous examination) are exempted from repeating it.
