  • Objectives

    Objectives

    This course provides students with basic knowledge in operations management and supply chain management for the sustainability of production processes. Specifically, at the end of the course, students should be able to: -           Acquire basic knowledge about production processes -           Understand the organization of production processes and their position within the supply chain -           Understand the meaning of energy consumption and material use in industrial processes -           Think about solutions for sustainable processes -           Get a basic understanding on how to analyze industry relations alongside their horizontal and vertical value chains -           Get an appropriate toolkit to measure and monitor the results based on economic and ecological aspects
  • Teaching methodologies

    Teaching methodologies

    The teaching component of the UC is performed through theoretical and practical classes. The theoretical classes are taught with lectures supported by audiovisual media. Theoretical-practical classes involve exercises and analysis and discussion of case studies and scientific articles and preparation of a written work on a topic of the area, made by students distributed in groups. Study trips are also planned.

    Classificação

    Média ponderada da avaliação teórica (P1, 70%) e teórico-prática (P2, 30%) P1: média de 2 testes ou frequência global realizadas no decorrer do semestre P2: com base no trabalho (35%), comportamento em aula (15%) e discussão (50%).

    A nota mínima para aprovação em P1 e P2 é de 10 valores. Caso não obtenha aprovação desta forma, o aluno tem um exame de recurso com nota mínima de 10 valores para aprovação

     

    Grading

    Weighted average of theoretical assessment (P1, 70%) and theoretical-practical assessment (P2, 30%) P1: average of 2 tests or overall attendance during the semester P2: based on work (35%), class behavior (15%), and discussion (50%).

    The minimum grade for passing P1 and P2 is 10 points. If the student does not pass in this way, they have a resit exam with a minimum grade of 10 points to pass
