    CU Rugby falls under the 1st cycle in Physical Education and Sport, scientific area Physical Education and Sport. It aims to provide basic and updated knowledge regarding the main questions of Rugby. It is intended that students who attend this CU acquire fundamental skills to guide the teaching of Basketball from pre-sports games to the formal game, adapting their knowledge to different levels of practical action. The understanding of teaching methodological progressions as well as the technical quality of students is crucial for the success and mastery of the teaching / learning process of Rugby.

    CP1 – History of the sport; Laws of the game; Terminology and symbolism. CP2 – Fundamental individual and team technique (Offensive and Defensive). Wide Game; Penetrating Game; Static Formations (Lineout and Scrum); Kicking Game. CP3 – Fundamental individual and team tactics (Offensive and Defensive). CP4 – Pre-sport games; Small-sided and adapted games (T1 Rugby). CP5 – Formal game (7x7). CP6 – Methodology for teaching rugby (Exercise Management; Communication and Group Management).

    Objectives

    It is intended that students acquire knowledge and skills that allow planning, guide, evaluate and control the teaching-learning process of Rugby. Defining the learning objectives (OA), it is intended that students who attend the present UC: OA1) develop specific knowledge and skills related to the teaching and training of the Rugby; OA2) know and apply the main individual and collective, offensive and defensive techniques of modality; OA3) know and apply the principles of the game; OA4) develop knowledge regarding the methodology for teaching and training dominant tactics and techniques introduced; OA5) acquire the necessary skills for teaching and training Rugby in school context, namely in terms of setting objectives, contents, methods, statements, use of keywords, feedbacks, significant situations, characterization of the game level.

    Teaching methodologies

    Monitoring and discussion of training sessions led by students in a Club environment. Possibility of intervention in a training environment after discussion of observed scenarios. Observation, by the students, of training and competition moments of the National Rugby Teams. Discussion of moments observed by the students.

    •60 % avaliação prática (20% execução, 30% prática pedagógica, 10% trabalho):

      * 30% liderar sessão de 10 minutos, individualmente, com apresentação   em papel do plano da aula 1h30. 

      * 10% trabalho

     

    - Para transitar à disciplina, a média ponderada da avaliação contínua global na TPD (componente teórica e prática) tem que ser igual ou superior a 9,5 valores:

    avaliação teórica (teste escrito) - igual ou superior a 9,5 valores

    avaliação prática (execução; liderança aula; trabalho) - média ponderada igual ou superior a 9,5 valores

    - Avaliação exame: nota mínima de acesso a oral, obrigatória, de 9,5 valores
