    The main goal od the disciplina TPD I Gymnastics I is to afford theoretical and practical knowledge in relation to the fundamentals of Gymnastics for All (GfA).  

    The approach to gymnastics movement patterns , as well as to the specific techniques, will enable students to teach the basics of GpT in contexts as Physical Education classes, Exercise and Health and Sports Training, respecting the learning processes.

    FUNDAMENTALS

    -Basic concepts; Notions of posture, attitude, body segmentation; Positions, directions, movements GMP's

    CHOREOGRAPHY AND MUSIC/MOVEMENT

    -Music and the gymic movement.

    -Exercises and rules for building a choreographic presentation.

    -Musical structure, tempo and technical execution in music;

    TERMINOLOGY

    -Methods, used Gymnastics classifications

    GYMNASTICS MOVEMENT PATTERNS

    -Classification, explanation and practical experimentation of the GMP's;

    HISTORY AND ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE OF GYMNASTICS

    SAFETY AND RISK CONTROL IN THE GYMIC INTERVENTION

    PRACTICAL DIDACTICS: \

  • Objectives

    Objectives

    The objectives of the discipline are:

    To identify the rules indispensable to the practice of GFA in an organized way and its application in a formal practice situation;

    Describe and correctly use the Gymic terminology and its application in teaching and practice situations;

    Execute the fundamental technical elements of gymnastics; 

    To acquire the levels of execution according to current models (training level of the GFA for adaptation to different populations and age groups), in a situation of formal practice;

    To classify and describe the specific didactic-methodological aspects of gymnastics.

    The competencies to be attained are:

    Describe, interpret and correctly apply knowledge in the basic activities of gymnastics for all;

    Identify, enumerate and apply the learning methodologies of gymnastics adapted to gymnastics for children, young people and adults.

    Describe, interpret and correctly apply the forms of technic.

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    In this curricular unit, the contents are presented in a theoretical expository method for the theoretical concepts and explanation of the specific didactics, with experimentation and systematization of the teaching methods at an individual, pair and small group level, intending that the students reach the minimum objectives of execution and capacity to teach others.
    
    The structure of the class alternates according to the teaching moment between part of theory and practical classes.
    
    The following evaluation elements are adopted, with the following weightings: - Practical execution of 1 Individual Practical Scheme 30%; - Theoretical analysis of 60" of 1 Practical Group Scheme (assigned by the Professor) presenting 1 Group Scheme Report 30%; - Execution of 1 Final Theoretical Frequency 30%; 2 Theoretical Sheets 10%.
