Objectives
Objectives
The objectives of this course unit are: - To develop an individual artistic project - which may or may not be continued in Painting VI - based on a subject of the student's choice; - To foster awareness of the importance of authorship, chance, error, and research; - To assess (self-)critical capabilities; - To expand skills in executing an individual project through artistic experimentation and the development of visual imagery; - To explore pictorial tools, media, and supports as part of the art research methodology during project conception; - To create a portfolio.

Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
The work methodology is in stages: the first is of an investigative and contextual nature focused on the subject chosen by the student. Is followed by exploratory and experimental practices informed by research and the constitution of a individual artistic project (with minimums to be presented) that may include pictorial proposals of various natures, covering the expanded field and taking into account contemporary concepts such as chance and intention, error and accident. The classes dedicated to the artistic project have tutorial accompaniment and critical collective discussions with all students about what is realised. The peer point of view shows the effectiveness of the intentions and the opportunities/possibilities of each project. The realisation of the project is also carried out outside the classroom and ensures autonomy and authorial decision-making. The final assessment is the exhibition of the projects with justified criteria and the presentation of the portfolio.
