Presentation
This curricular unit deals with territorial planning issues, providing knowledge of the theories, processes and procedures essential to the development of the architecture profession. In this context, in addition to the theory of territorial planning and policies at various scales, but with a focus on the urban scale, practical application issues are addressed, particularly in the context of territorial planning and management tools, so that future architects can effectively carry out their tasks.

Objectives
Objectives
The curricular unit's objectives are to enable students to practise architecture while knowing and respecting the rules and principles defined in the territorial planning instruments. To this end, it is important that students acquire the following competences: Know the fundamentals of territorial planning - what it is for and how it is structured - at the different scales of coverage; Understand the hierarchical differences (scales) and application of the different instruments and the rules associated with the development of their activities; Recognise the importance of complying with the rules defined in the Territorial Management Instruments in order to adapt their production to the development of the territories in which they operate; Ability to calculate the metrics applicable to territorial planning, knowing their methodology, function and importance in the context of territorial development; Ability to engage in dialogue and assist in territorial planning.

Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
There will be a working relationship with other curricular units, particularly projects, so that students can understand the subjects taught more efficiently and put their knowledge into practice. In this way, students can make efficient use of the work done for other curricular units, in coordination with the other teachers, which is a methodology that tries to include joint, non-isolated and transdisciplinary work, closer to future work in a real context.

Assessment
Para a Avaliação Contínua serão considerados os seguintes elementos
- participação ativa nas aulas e assiduidade (que será registada a cada aula) - será aplicada uma majoração de 10% na classificação individual existindo, pelo menos, 70% de assiduidade;
- trabalho de grupo I e respetiva apresentação oral - 60% (trabalho escrito (40%) + apresentação (40%) + desempenho individual através de entrega de memória descritiva da realização do trabalho (20%);
- trabalho individual (trabalho (50%) + apresentação/defesa (50%) (Clareza na apresentação, segurança na temática, comunicação do conhecimento). Aplica-se uma majoração de 10% à participação e assiduidade, considerando válida a presença a, pelo menos, 70% das aulas.
Nota: A definição concreta dos trabalhos de grupo e individual será efetuada nas aulas através de enunciado e com a necessária antecedência, considerando a coordenação com outras uc, nomeadamente de Projeto (ao abrigo do n.º 4 do artigo 14.º do RGA). Eventuais alterações que venham a ocorrer nas ponderações dos trabalhos, decorrentes do funcionamento da UC e coordenação com as restantes UC, e que venham a implicar no cálculo final da classificação e condições exigidas será efetuada em folha própria que se divulgará em aula e no LMS em uso e se anexará à presente FUC.
Todas as entregas são via LMS - Moodle. Será efetuada verificação de similitude e, caso detectado plágio, anulado o trabalho.
Avaliação em Exame (alunos que reprovaram em avaliação contínua ou que pretendam melhoria de classificação de anos anteriores)
Em exame, aos alunos que cumprirem a assiduidade, serão solicitados os elementos requeridos para a avaliação contínua a que reprovou (ou não entregou) devidamente elaborados para a nova avaliação. Assim, e nos termos regulamentares, poderá ser reconhecido o resultado de avaliação positiva efetuada ao(s) trabalho(s) desenvolvido durante as aulas (cf. n.º 3 do artigo 18.º do RGA em uso). Aos que não cumpriram a assiduidade poderá ser requerido trabalho suplmentar cujo enunciado será publicado na plataforma LMS em uso (Moodle).
NOTA:
Alunos que não cumpram pelo menos 50% de presença em avaliação contínua (excepto aluno com estatuto que não obrigue assiduidade), no exame de recurso, e em acréscimo aos elementos requeridos em avaliação contínua, ficam sujeitos a prova escrita de conhecimento e entrega de um trabalho suplementar a definir.
Alunos com estatuto especial e a que se aplique regime especial de avaliação (artigo 6.º do RGA) devem informar o docente para que se ajuste o formato de avaliação obedecendo ao n.º 3 do artigo 11.º do RGA.

The following elements will be taken into account for Continuous Assessment
- active participation in classes and attendance (which will be recorded for each class) - an increase of 10% will be applied to the individual classification if there is at least 70% attendance;
- group work and its oral presentation - 60% (written work (40%) + presentation (40%) + individual performance by submitting a report describing the work (20%);
- individual work (work (50%) + presentation/defence (50%) (clarity in the presentation, security in the subject, communication of knowledge). An extra 10% is applied to participation and attendance, with attendance at at least 70% of classes considered valid.
Note: The concrete definition of group and individual work will be made in class by means of a statement and with the necessary advance notice, taking into account coordination with other CUs, namely Project (under Article 14(4) of the RGA). Any changes that may occur in the weightings of the assignments, resulting from the operation of the CU and coordination with the other CUs, and which may affect the final calculation of the classification and required conditions, will be made on a separate sheet that will be publicised in class and on the LMS in use and will be attached to this FUC.
All deliveries will be made via the LMS - Moodle. A similarity check will be carried out and, if plagiarism is detected, the work will be cancelled
Exam assessment (students who have failed continuous assessment or who wish to improve their marks from previous years)
In an exam, students who fulfil their attendance requirements will be asked to provide the elements required for the continuous assessment they failed (or did not submit) duly prepared for the new assessment. In this way, and in accordance with the regulations, the result of a positive assessment of the work carried out during the lessons can be recognised (cf. article 18.3 of the RGA in use). Those who do not fulfil their attendance requirements may be asked to complete a supplementary assignment, which will be published on the LMS platform in use (Moodle).
NOTE:
Students who do not fulfil at least 50% attendance in continuous assessment (except students with status that does not require attendance), in the appeal exam, and in addition to the elements required in continuous assessment, will be subject to a written test of knowledge and delivery of a supplementary work to be defined.
Students with special status and to whom a special assessment regime applies (article 6 of the RGA) must inform the teacher so that the assessment format can be adjusted in accordance with article 11(3) of the RGA.
