The theme of the Curricular Unit - Architecture, Territoriality and Citizenship - is part of the general theme of the 2nd cycle. Perception and communication in/of Urban space. This theme falls within the lines of DAU investigation. The main theme of the year (which encompasses Projeto de Arquitectura IX e X) will be the interpretation of urban space and the proposition of a program that (re)qualifies it, thereby giving it a unique meaning and character. Projeto de Arquitectura IX will focus on a project program that is the result of research of the place under analysis and a program suggested by the student. The program may have different materializations and scales, with the approach and its implementation demonstrating mastery of the aspects architectural materials as an activity, which through the project, transforms the place. It is considered the exercise statement the basis of the work to be developed throughout the semester.

The theme of the Curricular Unit - Architecture, Territoriality and Citizenship - is part of the general theme of the 2nd cycle. Perception and communication in/of Urban space. This theme falls within the lines of DAU investigation. The main theme of the year (which encompasses Architecture Project IX and X) will be the interpretation of urban space and the proposition of a program that (re)qualifies it, thereby giving it a unique meaning and character. Architecture Project IX will focus on a project program that is the result of research of the place under analysis and a program suggested by the student. The program may have different materializations and scales, with the approach and its implementation demonstrating mastery of the aspects architectural materials as an activity, which through the project, transforms the place. Objectives
Students must demonstrate: - ability to recognize design procedures - referencing; discrimination; sizing; relevance - and its results; - skills research both for project preparation (inquiry) and in the design process itself; - skills for creating cognitive and heuristic methodologies capable of adapting to the specificity and contingency of particular projects; - ability to master the different phases of carrying out the project, from sketch to construction detail, going through the phases considered necessary for critical understanding and parallelism with more socio-economic and cultural situations. generalizable; - ability to communicate not only technical and material aspects but also the conceptual aspects of the project; - ability to integrate technical and environmental infrastructures and structural.

Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
The discipline is made up of theoretical classes, practices and study visits, in an assessment system to be continued. In theoretical classes, content is analyzed and criticized. In practice, the individual and workshop monitoring, encouraging debate on proposals between students and the teacher, always defending work as the core method of the discipline. The student will produce written pieces, drawings and models, etc., forming a portfolio of the Exercises and the Semiannual presentations. Monitoring practical work requires the development continuous development of solutions, with the student being responsible for the ability to justify their own evolution.

Assessment
A avaliação continua (AC) terá por base a assiduidade*, a participação nas aulas e a entrega do(s) trabalho(s) prático(s), com as seguintes ponderações:
Assiduidade e participação nas aulas 15%
Exercícios Intercalares e Apresentações (5 Apresentações) 45%
Portfolio 10%
Apresentação Final 30%
*A assiduidade, para o regime de avaliação contínua, é de carácter obrigatório e implica a presença em pelo menos 70% das aulas.
O incumprimento, não justificado, de mais de 1 (uma) das entregas, ou de mais de dois exercícios implicam a reprovação em avaliação contínua (AC);
As entregas dos trabalhos deverão ser feitas contendo todos os elementos solicitados no enunciado (disponível na plataforma do moodle) no início da aula, prevendo-se uma tolerância de 15 minutos.
Não serão aceites trabalhos fora do prazo estipulado;
Regras de acesso a épocas de exame
Época de recurso (ER) ou exame de 2ª Época só é possível o seu acesso aos discentes com as seguintes condições:
- Pretendam fazer melhoria;
- Com presenças iguais ou superiores a 70% das aulas lecionadas e entregue pelo menos 5 (cinco) dos 6 (seis) momentos de avaliação em período de AC;
Os elementos para as entregas serão identificados posteriormente, mas os alunos podem desde já organizar o trabalho de acordo com a lista genérica que se apresenta agora:
- Painéis Finais;
- Máximo de 4 painéis;
- Formato A1, vertical;
- Cópia em Formato A3 dos painéis síntese entregues em A1, à qual se adiciona o material do Portfolio.
- Cd-rom com todos os elementos gráficos;
- Apresentações PowerPoint das 4 apresentações relativas à fase 1 e fase 2;
- Ficheiros .dwg;
- Digitalização de todos os painéis em formato pdf ou jpg.
Época Especial de Avaliação (EE) só é possível o seu acesso aos discentes com as seguintes condições:
- Pretendam fazer melhoria;
- Tenham reprovado no exame na Época de Recurso (ER);
- Com presenças iguais ou superiores a 70% das aulas lecionadas e entregue/apresentado oralmente pelo menos 5 (cinco) dos 6 (seis) momentos de avaliação em período de AC;
- Tenham comprovado na secretaria que têm os ECTS mínimos para poderem inscrever-se para este exame.
