This course module aims to foster an understanding of, and the development of skills for, the practice of animation as a means of individual expression. It seeks to stimulate the perception and creation of animated images and movement as tools for exploration, in the quest to develop one's own artistic language. In a global society increasingly dominated by the rapid dissemination of images, whilst it is essential for animators to be able to respond to external demands-by creating work that reflects current aesthetic trends and/or meets clients' requirements-it is also vital to recognise the need for a form of self-expression that stands out for its originality. In this regard, this module encourages exploration and experimentation, with a view to helping students develop an aesthetic vision of animated movement as a means of expressing personal themes of identity, one that proposes alternatives or responds creatively to dominant systems.

Objectives
This module will synthesise the learning achieved in the course's practical modules, which run concurrently. Building on this learning, students will develop an original project, the concept of which justifies the choice of one or a combination of all these techniques, to produce a piece of work that reveals the artist's perspective on the proposed theme. Knowledge, skills and competences to be acquired: - conceptual development and presentation of one's own idea(s) to an audience, using appropriate tools - storyboard planning - creation of an animatic based on the storyboard - production of a short animated film
