Class Estágio em Neuropsicologia Aplicada

This CU is the curricular unit for developing the internship in Applied Neuropsychology.

The internship has two aspects: a) supervised internship by a supervisor of the institution; and b) supervision by the teacher. In this last aspect the student will be integrated in the seminar of internship that will be implemented through weekly sessions of tutoring in small group. These sessions address the following topics:
1. Regulation of the internship, definition of trainee duties, ethics and deontology;
2. Presentation of activities and practical cases and integration with theoretical knowledge and state of the art;

3. Reflection on application, limits and potential of the evaluation/intervention, and integration with contents addressed in the previous year;
4. Training of communication skills (observation and implementation, psychologist/client, psychologist/team); 5. Assessment practices in Applied Neuropsychology
6. Case study reports
7. Internship report

Expositive and demonstrative method. Initially the methodologies are expositive of the initial points of the program. In the next phase of the CU will be developed the roleplaying training of the main communication skills in the context of internship. Next, the specific training will be developed in situations related to the different intervention contexts in Neuropsychology, where the discussion of clinical cases will be privileged.

The evaluation includes the preparation of an internship report. The length should not exceed 30 A4 pages and will be delivered in paper and digital format. The minimum attendance for the conclusion of this course is 75%. The completion of the CU depends on the assessment of the advisory teacher and after hearing the institutional supervisor and will take into account the attendance and the final oral evaluation of the report of the internship to a jury according to the regulations of the internship seminar.
