    This course aims to provide students with appropriate knowledge and skills that allow them to develop evidence-based, good quality, research projects, supported on the best methodologiacal practices and ethic principles.     It aims to: a) Encourage scientific curiosity and critical reflection focused on the available research in the field of exercise and health. b) Stimulate knowledge and understanding of the most used theoretical models, reference authors, empirical studies and methodologies in the area of the individual scientific project, so that the student can identify the existing research gaps. c) Mobilize theoretical and methodological knowledge to develop research projects that are able to answer to relevant , interesting and feasible research questions, through the implementation of appropriate methods.

    Objectives

    Aims: 1.      Know the theory of scientific knowledge and the guidelines for the production of high quality scientific research. 2.      Know the ethical principles in scientific research. 3.      Develop an individual research project   Knowledge and competences to acquire: a)      Encourage scientific curiosity and critical reflection focused on the available research in the field of exercise and health, to allow the identification of rthe available esearch gaps . b)      Know the guidelines for the deveop of differente types of research studies, observational (STROBE), experimental (SPIRIT), and systematic reviews (PRISMA) c)      Develop research questions according to the FINER criteria (Feasible, Interesting, Innovative, Ethic, Relevant). d)      Develop the capacity to define study goals and hypothesis. Develop a method that is able to appropriately address the study goals, according to Ethic principles and research guidelines.
  • Teaching methodologies

    Teaching methodologies

    Peer review processes, to stimulate critical thinking. Tasks stimulating the use of new inteligent search tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity). Gradual construction of the research project. Feedback on progression. Note: In the student's projects where AI was used, the student must explicitly indicate the tasks in which it was used and the bibliographic sources on which it was based. Permission or a license is required for the use of copyrighted data or information.
