Presentation
The course is organised into two complementary modules, both of which are structured around the premise 'From the real'. Throughout the course, students will develop and produce film works while exploring the relationships between experience, observation, and filmmaking. One of the modules takes the outside world and the encounter with the Other as its starting point, using the surrounding reality and the various forms of otherness as a field of observation and filmic experimentation for analysis and creation. The other module focuses on each student's personal archive, exploring themes related to memory, personal experience, and the intimate or family sphere. The premise 'From the real' thus informs the students' creative processes in both fiction and documentary, while also enabling the exploration of hybrid formats that transcend genre boundaries and incorporate other forms of artistic experimentation.
