Presentation
The Philosophy of Sport course unit aims to foster a critical understanding and examination of the philosophical foundations of sport as a human, social and cultural practice. Its scope encompasses epistemological, ethical, anthropological and aesthetic questions, focusing on conceptions of the body and embodiment, the foundations of knowledge, the values that shape sporting practice, and the meanings attributed to sport in contemporary society. The course unit also addresses ethical dilemmas and the aesthetic, educational and cultural dimensions of sporting experience. Its inclusion in the study programme contributes to an education that extends beyond technical and instrumental dimensions, providing conceptual frameworks for the critical analysis of practices and values associated with sport and for informed professional decision-making grounded in ethical and social responsibility.

Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
Active and participatory methodologies are prioritised, combining dialogic teaching and the problematisation of concepts (TM1) with the analysis and discussion of philosophical and scientific texts (TM2). Case studies and ethical dilemmas (TM3), guided debates (TM4), and the critical analysis of audiovisual resources (TM5) foster argumentation and the application of philosophical frameworks to contemporary issues in sport. Concept mapping and guided literature searches (TM6) support the organisation and substantiation of knowledge. Seminars and collaborative small-group activities (TM7) encourage the exchange of perspectives and the collaborative construction of knowledge. Formative feedback from the lecturer (TM8) supports the learning process, fostering reflection, self-regulation and the progressive improvement of students' work.

Assessment
