International Week DesignDrugs2MDR
This Summer School aims to explore innovative strategies for drug development and the treatment of multidrug-resistant tumours
Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
The activity consists of organising an intensive 5-day Summer School, taking place from 13 to 17 July 2026 in a face-to-face format, preceded by an introductory virtual session on 6 July 2026 (lasting 5 hours), dedicated to presenting the BIP programme.
The main objective of this Summer School is to provide participants with solid and innovative knowledge on the development of functional medicines and the treatment of multidrug-resistant (MDR) solid tumours.
Through thematic seminars and a field visit, the programme aims to stimulate participants’ critical thinking and analytical skills in the context of multidrug resistance and emerging therapeutic strategies.
Additionally, the initiative seeks to promote collaboration among lecturers and students from different institutions and countries, encouraging the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and best practices in the field of innovative pharmaceutical development research.
Programme
The Summer School will be delivered through:
- Interactive seminars and a study visit, led by experts in the field;
- Theoretical content on multidrug-resistant (MDR) solid tumours;
- Analysis of scientific articles related to drug development;
- Written assignments, reports, and oral presentations covering topics such as medicinal chemistry, computational modelling, toxicology, and pharmaceutical technology.
Participants are expected to acquire a solid understanding of MDR and innovative therapeutic strategies, develop skills in scientific communication, critical thinking, and teamwork, and establish professional networks for future collaborations.
