This event will feature the presence of Associate Professor of Sociology at Università LUMSA (Italy), Umberto Di Maggio, a renowned expert in the field of female migration and social inequalities. With an extensive academic background, Professor Di Maggio is also a member of the Board of the ESA RN27 network and a researcher in the "We-Propose" PRIN-PNRR project on female migration. Currently, he is conducting research at CeiED with the project "Migration, Racial Discrimination and Social Inequalities in Southern Europe: A Sociological Investigation of the Portuguese Scenario".
The event aims to foster a deep reflection on contemporary issues of female migration and racial and social inequalities, based on classical sociological theories. This approach will allow participants to gain a better understanding of the challenges faced by migrant women while exploring the role of education as a crucial tool for promoting gender equality and reducing social and economic inequalities.
