Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
As part of the Thematic Seminar I – Inequalities, Inclusion and Well-being course unit, within the Master’s in Social Work and Social Policy, an open lecture will be held featuring GAT – Group of Activists in Treatment, focusing on the contribution of social workers to reducing health inequalities.
The session will introduce GAT, its various services and Social Work intervention strategies, with a particular focus on the experiences developed at GAT Setúbal/Gira and GAT Almada. Drawing on these practices, the session will explore ways of responding to situations of social vulnerability, facilitating access to healthcare and rights, and promoting inclusion and well-being.
In a space for sharing experiences, critical reflection and dialogue, the guest speakers and Master’s students will discuss the possibilities and challenges of professional intervention, seeking to understand how Social Work can help address the barriers that create and exacerbate health inequalities.
