Conference Cycle Painting and Cinema Cycle 2026
The Painting and Cinema Cycle explores the connection between painting and film through a showcase of documentaries on the theme of climate emergency
Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
The Painting and Cinema Cycle is an activity by NE-FELI-BA-TA and aims to explore the connection between Painting and Cinema through a film showcase at the Fernando Lopes Cinema Room, this year under the central theme: climate emergency.
Based on the idea of "Regeneration", three documentary films will be presented about three different artists: Vik Muniz, in "Waste Land" (2010), directed by Lucy Walker; Sebastião Salgado, in "The Salt of the Earth" (2014); and Anselm Kiefer, in "Anselm: The Sound of Time" (2023), both by Wim Wenders.
It is aimed in particular at students of the Bachelor’s in Visual Arts and the Master’s in Painting, but is open to anyone interested in these fields.
As a university extension activity, it builds a bridge between Universidade Lusófona and DCAM, along with several partner entities: Rede Cuidar da Casa Comum, Pluriversidade Comunitária and Multiple Skins Editions.
