Workshop Short Training Courses: Mentoring for Inclusion and Diversity
Building bridges between cultures through empathy, listening and inclusion
Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
The short course “Mentoring for Inclusion and Diversity” is set within the context of increasing cultural diversity in educational, social and community spaces, requiring new skills from professionals and volunteers involved in mentoring and integration processes.
In a scenario marked by mobility, multiculturalism and diverse migration paths, mentoring plays a central role in promoting inclusion, participation and well-being. However, cultural, linguistic and symbolic differences can present challenges to communication, trust-building and the development of effective support relationships.
This short course therefore aims to equip participants with knowledge and practical tools for interculturally competent intervention, based on empathy, respect for diversity, self-reflection and the appreciation of identities. Through participatory methodologies, it promotes the development of more conscious, inclusive mentoring practices adapted to the needs of mentees in culturally diverse contexts.
General Objective
To develop participants’ intercultural skills applied to mentoring practices, promoting more inclusive, empathetic, effective and human relationships.
