Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
The Faculty of Law at Lusófona University announces the conference “The Influence of Mimetic Rivalry on Contemporary Tax Law: A Critical Approach Based on René Girard”.
This initiative offers an innovative and interdisciplinary reflection on the foundations of contemporary Tax Law, drawing from the theory of mimetic rivalry developed by the French thinker René Girard. In a context of increasing complexity in social and economic relations, this critical approach allows for a questioning of the dynamics of desire, conflict, and sacrifice that underlie modern tax systems.
The conference will feature the participation of distinguished national and international academics, whose contributions are expected to enrich the legal, philosophical, and economic debate surrounding taxation.
