International Week The Uncensored Cycle - Italian Cinema Hits After 25 April
A point of convergence between Portugal and Italy through cinema and freedom
From April 18th to May 2nd, Cinema Fernando Lopes hosts the Italian Cinema Festival, with the 'Uncensored' Cycle - Successes of Italian Cinema after April 25th.
Soon after the revolution, 101 Italian films premiered in Portugal, placing US film productions in second place in the ranking for the first and only time, with 76 films.
This relationship between Portugal and Italian cinema lasted until 1985, the year in which French productions once again occupied first place among European cinematography.
The Uncensored Cycle - Successes of Italian Cinema after April 25th aims to be a celebration of the connection between Italy and Portugal with regard to cinema, freedom, and the freedom to see and make any type of cinema.
