Presentation
The aim is to highlight the importance of graphic design applied to film and television. By analyzing the work of designers with reference work in the area, the aim is to learn from their processes the type of graphic strategies to be used as tools in the projects to be developed in other curricular units. The aim is to equip students with graphic design components and tools that will allow the audience to feel more immersed in the projects presented, such as the elements that should be included in a given layout, like color palette and typography, visual references and inspiration (moodboard).

Syllabus
The role of graphic design in visual storytelling. Paradigmatic examples of graphic design in cinema and television Elements and principles of design (points, lines, planes, gestalt and color) Typography and visual communication Corporate identity systems and branding Motion graphics and kinetic typography Motion graphics and kinetic typography in film and television Individual and collaborative projects, applying the skills and knowledge acquired throughout the course.

Objectives
The aim is for students to develop individual graphic layout design skills that will enable them to plan, design and execute presentations and other graphic projects related to the area of film and television. Through different approaches adapted to real projects in development, students will be placed in situations where they will have to deal with the challenges that the practice of graphic image creation seeks to answer.

Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
Student-centered Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is proposed, involving groups of students working together to solve a real-world problem. Students are encouraged to understand concepts through problem-solving skills. Students will have the opportunity to develop skills related to teamwork, project management, oral and written communication, self-awareness and evaluation of group processes, critical thinking and analysis, explaining concepts, self-directed learning, applying course content to real-world examples, research and information literacy, and problem-solving across disciplines.

Assessment
Assessment
Os alunos serão terão dois momentos de avaliação e assiduidade:

Um projecto colectivo onde irão desenvolver o grafismo do dossier desenvolvido na cadeira de Processos de Criação e Desenvolvimento em Cinema e Audiovisual, com a ponderação de 50%

Uma apresentação/projecto individual com a ponderação de 40%
-
A presença e participação do aluno terá uma ponderação de 10%
Para efeitos de exame os alunos serão avaliados sobre a realização dos projectos aos quais não tiveram aproveitamento acima da ponderação de 50% sobre a incidência no mesmo na nota final.
