    This course exists at the intersection of Media Studies and Communication Sciences, Political Theory, and the Sociology of Social Movements. Its main objective is to examine the transformations brought about by Information Technologies in the expansion of social and political participation in contemporary societies. Through this course, the aim is to address various examples of how the definition of politics has evolved and the material and symbolic conditions behind these transformations. In the context of the undergraduate program, this course allows students to explore how Communication Sciences are fundamental to understanding the most recent historical and technological developments.

    A metodologia de avaliação é constituída por cinco elementos principais, sendo que todos eles são obrigatórios, e um elemento optativo de crédito extra:

    1. Prova escrita, presencial e individual, com possibilidade de consulta de material académico impresso (20% da ponderação);
    2. Trabalho de grupo principal, escrito (40% da ponderação, grupo);
    3. Apresentação breve de notícia relativa a ativismo e discussão sobre a mesma (10% da ponderação, grupo);
    4. Discussão sobre textos a serem tratados em aula (20% da ponderação, grupo);
    5. Criar uma pequena zine/panfleto para distribuição digital, com o mesmo tema do trabalho de grupo principal (10% da ponderação, grupo)
    6. CRÉDITO EXTRA máximo 2 valores: em articulação com a UC de Jornalismo Digital, os grupos formados nessa UC podem submeter um trabalho suplementar que explore, a partir dos conteúdos da UC de Ativismo em Rede, o papel que movimentos sociais / ativistas tiveram no contexto dos resultados produzidos para a UC de Jornalismo Digital, como é que dados vindos de ativistas / movimentos sociais foram ou não incorporados nesse trabalho, e que outras fonte de dados poderiam ter sido incorporadas mas não foram.
