    The subject aims at the introduction to the language and processes of communication design; acquisition of a critical vision of the processes of conception, development and production in the areas of print and screen; understanding and application of the notion of visual identity for the area of Fashion.

  • Syllabus


    1. Fundamentals of Communication Design for the development and application of visual identity for fashion production in static and animated support:
    - Project methodology aimed at logo and motion graphics projects;
    - Fundamentals of typography - families, structure, design, application;
    - Fundamentals of static and animated composition - shape / background, symmetry / asymmetry, proportion, balance, movement, synchrony, rhythm;
    - Color fundamentals - systems and harmonies.
    2. Script and storyboard with a view to designing animated sequences.
    3. Fundamental techniques and tools associated with vector drawing software and motion graphics, which are necessary for a communication project in the printed and video motion graphics areas.
    4. Practical project: idealization and application of graphic identity for fashion collection on static and animated support.

  • Objectives


    The UC aims to assimilate the basic principles of a visual identity project for printed support and motion graphics video. It seeks to develop aesthetic, conceptual and technical criteria that will allow the execution of a visual identity project for a fashion collection in print and video.

    - Recognize and consistently apply Communication Design concepts for print and motion graphics video, in the areas of typography, color, image, static and animated composition;
    - Use a methodology adjusted to a visual identity project for static and animated support;
    - Easily apply the techniques and tools of vector drawing software and motion graphics necessary for the correct expression of the design concept;

    - Execution of visual identity project for fashion collection, with expression of the fundamental concepts of Communication Design and technical rigor;
    - Coherent application of the identity developed in different supports and objects.

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    It is a theoretical-practical course that combines expository interventions of the syllabus with the elaboration of exercises in vector design software and video motion graphics. Throughout the semester, an individual practical project will be developed with respective analysis and monitoring in class.
