1. Introduction. The international dimension of Labour Relations: The role of the ILO. 2. The European dimension of industrial relations: The European social policy; The European Social Dialogue. 3. Social concertation and the main organizations representing the interests of employers and workers: business associations and employers associations; workers' committees and trade unions. 4. Collective bargaining. 5.Main topics of the contemporary agenda: the 2030 Agenda. Portugal; The Green Paper on Industrial Relations 2016. Economic change and the inclusive labour market; Duration and organization of working time; The Green Paper on the Future of Work; Digital transition; Education and training; Employment and unemployment; Qualifications and competences; Productivity and remuneration.

Collective labour relations and industrial relations. Evolution of labour relations in Portugal. Social concertation - the main representative organizations. The social aspect of European integration. The importance of the International Labour Organisation. The digital transition movement.

Teaching methodologies
The classes will be theoretic-practical, that is, contemplating the possibility of presentation of the themes and their discussion in class. Continuous assessment based on the work presented in class, participation in class discussions and two written test.
