The course in Oncological and Reconstructive Surgery in Companion Animals aims to provide highly specialised training to meet the growing developments and needs of the veterinary surgery sector.
This course aims to provide motivated, high-potential students with practical, hands-on training, using models, simulators, clinical skills and other resources, thereby ensuring a comprehensive and up-to-date learning experience. The course combines the most advanced knowledge and techniques in oncological and reconstructive surgery, enabling students to acquire the practical and theoretical skills required for a comprehensive approach to the treatment of diseases in companion animals. The course presents the fundamental principles of oncological and reconstructive surgery, enabling students to apply this knowledge in clinical practice where indicated. The most current anatomical and pathophysiological concepts will be covered, particularly with regard to the skin and cutaneous lesions, allowing for the accurate identification of patients requiring surgery. The course will also introduce the concept of locally ablative procedures and their various techniques, as well as the latest and most up-to-date surgical techniques for the treatment of skin lesions, enabling students to select the most appropriate technique for each case.
This specialised continuing professional development (CPD) programme is based on the pillars of teaching excellence, grounded in scientific evidence and the acquisition of skills for resolving complex situations in real-world work contexts.
