The Advanced Course in Clinical Radiology for Companion Animals offers highly specialised training to meet the growing developments and needs of the job market in the field of clinical radiology. It aims to provide motivated students with high potential with practical, `hands-on¿ training that is innovative within the national and European context. This specialised continuing professional development (CPD) programme is founded on the pillars of excellence in evidence-based teaching and the acquisition of skills to resolve complex situations in real-world work contexts. The course, with its hybrid structure (online and face-to-face classes), allows students to better balance their academic and professional lives, giving them the flexibility to study, acquire and deepen their knowledge whilst practising their profession on a day-to-day basis.

The following are eligible to apply for the programme: - Holders of an Integrated Master¿s degree in Veterinary Medicine; - Holders of a pre-Bologna Bachelor¿s degree in Veterinary Medicine; - Holders of a foreign higher education qualification in Veterinary Medicine in accordance with the Bologna Process or a legally equivalent qualification; - Final-year students of Veterinary Medicine.

- Identify the main trends and challenges in the development of this field and their implications for the future of the profession: - Acquire knowledge that enables the development of skills in innovative radiology techniques for companion animals; - Develop and refine techniques for performing and interpreting radiology examinations, and acquire knowledge enabling the selection of the most appropriate equipment and materials according to the clinical case presented, in order to formulate accurate diagnoses; - Acquire knowledge enabling the appropriate monitoring of cases throughout the clinical investigation, ensuring the patient¿s welfare and quality of life; - To promote critical thinking for the collection of critical information and bibliographic research. - Ethical use of animals in teaching activities; - Part of the country¿s first veterinary medicine teaching institution with clinical skills laboratories equipped with simulators and real models for the teaching of veterinary medicine.
