    This course will contribute to more conscious and efficient livestock production in line with the One Health concept, specifically with regard to the early detection of disease in cattle herds, using uterine and pulmonary ultrasonography in sentinel animals, facilitating timely intervention and thus contributing to a reduction in the use of antimicrobials, economic losses, and animal suffering.

    Knowledge, abilities and skills to be acquired

    - Identify risk factors on each farm that contribute to the occurrence of disease; - Be familiar with tools for early disease identification and the use of sentinel animals, with special emphasis on ultrasound; - Apply prophylactic measures (including biosecurity) to reduce the occurrence of disease; - Decide in each specific situation on the use of therapeutic (including antimicrobials) and prophylactic protocols, and other control and prevention measures.
