International workshop brings together doctoral students and researchers in Bratislava to explore the path of collective memory through archive cinema
Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
The second session of the DOCTUS: Paths of Contemporary Research series will take place from 14 to 16 May 2025 at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, Slovakia. This edition is dedicated to the theme Archive, Collective Memory and Nostalgia, offering participants the opportunity to explore the film archive as a space where collective memory, nostalgia and historiography converge.
Through an interdisciplinary approach that combines film theory, media studies and film practice, this intensive programme brings together lectures, screenings and practical workshops. Participants will be invited to engage with critical analysis, philosophical reflection, experimental archive cinema and interactive narratives.
This workshop is aimed at doctoral students and early career researchers from the FilmEU consortium's partner institutions. It provides a unique opportunity to reflect on the role of cinema in the construction of memory and identity, share research in a supportive environment and develop creative and professional skills in an international context.
