Lusófona Ecosystem Marks World Alzheimer's Day
Promoting an awareness-raising session on Alzheimer's disease, bringing together residents, family members and professionals for a moment of sharing.

Last 21 September marked World Alzheimer's Day.
The management of Casa de Repouso de São José de Camarate organised a session dedicated to Alzheimer's disease and its comparison with other forms of dementia, pseudodementia and mild cognitive decline. The session was attended by residents, family members, management, technical and support staff, who filled the institution's communal room. The session was led by Prof. Paulo Sargento (academic at the Faculty of Law of Lusófona University and at the Ribeiro Sanches School of Health of IPLUSO), at the invitation of the Director, Dr. Pedro Costa.
Lasting two hours, the meeting featured the active and enthusiastic participation of residents and family members, who showed particular interest in the topic, making several comments, asking questions, requesting information and seeking tips on how to deal with the symptoms and the disease, both as residents and as carers.
