On 21 April, Lusófona University, through its Green Lusófona initiative, marked World Tree Day with an important action to plant and restore green areas on the University Campus. The event, which included the planting of four new trees, had the active participation of the institution's Academic Community.
The event was attended by Professor Patrícia Branco, a member of the Eco-Schools programme, who stressed the importance of environmental education and the preservation of green spaces. Her presence highlighted the university's role in sensitising the community to the importance of sustainable practices.
The main aim of the initiative was to beautify and revitalise two spaces on campus, but also to involve the academic community in defending and enhancing green areas. The tree planting was accompanied by awareness-raising activities on the importance of environmental preservation and the positive impact each person can have on sustainability. This action is part of Lusófona Verde's ongoing efforts to promote sustainability and ecological awareness within the university.
