ULusófona lecturer receives appointment in the 7th IPCC Assessment Report
Rui Gaspar was classified as a ‘Lead Author’ for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has appointed 664 experts from 111 countries to participate in the Seventh Assessment Report (AR7) as Coordinating Lead Authors, Lead Authors, and Review Editors.
These experts were nominated by governments and observer organisations of the IPCC and selected by the IPCC Bureau from a global pool of 3,771 nominees.
Rui Gaspar, Associate Professor at the School of Psychology and Life Sciences, was nominated by the American Psychological Association (APA) and selected by the IPCC as a "Lead Author" for the Working Group II – Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability.
The first meeting of the Lead Authors is scheduled for early December in Paris, France.
The three IPCC Working Group reports are expected to begin publication in mid-2028, while the Synthesis Report, which will conclude the entire cycle, is set to be approved by the end of 2029, completing the seventh assessment cycle.
