Pomodoro Technique
The exam season has started, and you’re struggling to concentrate?
Today we introduce you to a time management technique that might help: the Pomodoro Technique!
Created by Francesco Cirillo in the 1980s, the name "Pomodoro" comes from the tomato-shaped kitchen timer ("pomodoro" means tomato in Italian).
The technique involves dividing work into 25-minute blocks (called "Pomodoros"), followed by short breaks to boost focus and productivity.
The cycle is simple:
- Choose a task (such as studying).
- Set the timer for 25 minutes.
- Work until the timer rings.
- Take a 5-minute break.
- After 4 Pomodoros, take a longer break (15-30 minutes).
The technique helps maintain concentration, avoid mental fatigue, and improve efficiency by breaking work into smaller segments.
And you, have you tried this technique?
