Objectives
Objectives
The aim is to provide students with theoretical and practical tools and analytical skills on land use planning; the importance of planning in preventing and minimizing natural and technological disasters; the relevance of planning in the post-disaster/rescue phase; knowing and distinguishing the various concepts related to civil protection planning; knowing and distinguishing the families of emergency plans. It is also intended that students acquire knowledge about emergency communications, the European Civil Protection Mechanism and emergency plans in buildings (self-protection measures, evacuation plans and drills). In order to consolidate knowledge, case studies will be analyzed for practical application of the theoretical concepts covered in class.

Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
The teaching methodology combines lectures supported by PowerPoint presentations made available to students with practical exercises to consolidate the course contents. The pedagogical approach integrates Case-Based Learning, Problem-Based Learning (PBL), and Project-Based Learning (PjBL). Continuous assessment includes a written theoretical test (20% of the final grade) and a practical project (80%), developed in two stages: an interim presentation covering the state of the art, objectives, and methodology, followed by a final presentation of the results. All assessment components are mandatory. The theoretical test requires a minimum grade of 7 out of 20. Class attendance is compulsory, and students may not miss more than 30% of classes to remain eligible for continuous assessment.
