    Syllabus

    The sessions of tutorial orientation of the dissertation have a duration of 3 hours and take place every fortnightly. In these sessions, each supervisor will meet with the respective group of master’ students, aiming the definition of the research project. This supervision will includes the literature review and the additional empirical evidence; research questions, hypotheses, and the most appropriate methodologies to accomplish them; the selection of the measures, procedures and methods of data collection; the analysis of the data and their discussion, the practical and theoretical implications, as well as the preparation for the public appreciation of the Master Dissertation.  
  • Objectives

    Objectives

    The objective of this course is the development of the research project that will result in the master's thesis. It is intended that students develop, with tutorial follow-up of scientific supervisors, scientific knowledge and skills through the implementation of the research plan: from the literature review; definition of objectives, hypotheses and research questions; selection of research design, data collection measures and procedures; analytical approaches to analyse the data and interpretation of the findings; discussion of the findings, and implications for practice and theory. Students will also acquire / consolidate scientific writing skills and learn the procedures for dissemination of the results, namely the online science platforms for submission of papers in journals with impact factor (Clarivate Analytics).

    Innovative methodologies will be used to support the teaching-learning process, namely peer assessment, digital tools, group sessions, and problem-based learning (PBL).
