This UC continues the Dissertation Project UC in the 2nd semester of the 1st year, where students select a research topic, carry out a synthesis-review of the state of the art, establish research objectives/hypotheses and define the methodological procedures for the implementation of the research project.

CP1. Scientific writing and APA formatting and referencing standards. CP2. Procedures and methodological aspects of implementing the research project (literature review, operationalization of research objectives and hypotheses, data collection, processing and analysis, and writing, interpretation and discussion of results). CP3. Ethical procedures in the development and implementation of research in Justice Psychology. CP4. Writing the dissertation is based on the requirements of scientific work. CP5. Communication and dissemination of research results.

Objectives
Objectives
The general objective of the UC is to support students in executing a research project of an original study, which will result in their dissertation. The aim is for students to be able to: LO1: Introduce revisions to improve the research project carried out in Project UC; LO2: Execute the research plan (collection, processing and analysis of data; writing, interpretation and discussion of results); LO3: Write the dissertation in the format of a scientific article; LO4. Orally communicate the results of an original study; LO5: Demonstrate skills of critical and ethical reflection on advanced research topics through participation in the research teams of dissertation supervisors.

Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
Within the scope of the CU, the program content will be addressed through teaching-learning methodologies aligned with the CE pedagogical model. Tutorial guidance (ME1) provides personalized and regular monitoring, promoting student autonomy in the implementation of their research project, with the continuous support of the advisor. Team-based learning (ME2) enables students to join existing research working groups, promoting knowledge sharing and direct contact with experienced researchers in a collaborative and practical context. Finally, project-based learning (ME3) is a central axis of the CE's pedagogical model, given that the dissertation presupposes an autonomous research project, oriented towards solving real problems, bringing students closer to the professional context of forensic psychology and research contexts in this area of knowledge.

Assessment
A UC funciona em modalidade de avaliação contínua. A avaliação contempla os seguintes elementos (cf. Regulamento de dissertação dos segundos ciclos em Psicologia da FPED): MA1: Implementação do projeto de dissertação, com uma ponderação de 2 valores; MA2: Dissertação de mestrado, com uma ponderação de 15 valores; MA3: Apresentação e discussão da dissertação de mestrado em Defesa Pública, com uma ponderação de 3 valores. A implementação do projeto de dissertação (MA1) é um elemento avaliado exclusivamente pelo orientador, de acordo com os seguintes critérios: a) qualidade da resposta do/a estudante à orientação; b) a execução do plano de trabalho de acordo com a calendarização aprovada na UC de Projeto; c) a autonomia na execução das tarefas de investigação; d) a autonomia no processo de análise da informação, análise de dados e de redação da dissertação; e) o grau de evolução da aprendizagem ao longo do processo de orientação; e f) assiduidade, empenho e envolvimento participativo nas atividades de orientação. A Dissertação de Mestrado (MA2) é avaliada pelos três elementos do júri, de acordo com os descritores apresentados detalhadamente na grelha de avaliação constante nos Procedimentos e Critérios de Avaliação da UC de Dissertação dos segundos ciclos da FPED. Por sua vez, a apresentação e discussão da dissertação (MA3) é um elemento avaliado pelos três elementos do júri, considerando os seguintes critérios: a) Organização e apresentação oral do projeto (sequência e estrutura lógica da apresentação, coerência entre os materiais escritos e o discurso); b) Gestão e dinamização da apresentação (competências de oralidade, eficácia da comunicação oral, estruturação dos materiais escritos); e c) Gestão da informação e qualidade das respostas às questões levantadas na discussão (grau de domínio dos conceitos-chave, competência de responder às questões e comentários).
