    Admission Conditions

    The candidate must hold an accredited degree as a minimum requirement. Preference is given to students with a master's degree, although holders of a bachelor's degree or legal equivalent may be admitted, or other candidates with a relevant academic or scientific curriculum, according to the judgement of the Course Director. Professional experience in the management of private for-profit and non-profit organisations, entrepreneurs, managers and other public administration professionals, among others, is valued. Selection is based on individual merit. Criteria to be considered: a) Academic, technical and scientific Curriculum (80%); b) Motivation letter explaining the reasons for choosing the study programme (5%); c) Mini research proposal in the area of Management (15%); Candidates are ranked according to the score obtained in the selection process.

    Course in partnership with UTAD - University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro: www.utad.pt The PhD in Management is offered in partnership by UTAD and Lusófona University, allowing students to benefit from the scientific, pedagogical, and infrastructural resources of both institutions. The degree is awarded under an institutional cooperation agreement, in accordance with the applicable legal terms. The program is structured to accommodate full-time or part-time students, allowing them to balance their studies with their professional activities. The initial curriculum component aims to develop advanced research skills in management, followed by the preparation of a doctoral thesis under qualified scientific supervision. Doctoral students are integrated from the outset into research units and projects, with access to laboratories, scientific databases, doctoral seminars, and complementary training activities. Scientific publication, participation in conferences, and collaboration with external organizations are strongly encouraged. The course promotes internationalization through academic mobility, international co-supervision, and participation in scientific networks, with a particular focus on the Portuguese-speaking world. The working language may be Portuguese or English, depending on the nature of the research. The application process, selection criteria, tuition fees, and academic calendar are defined annually and published on the institutions' official channels.
