The "Fire Behavior" Microcredential corresponds to the AGIF Microcredential, AI4 - Fire Behavior. It provides technical knowledge on the main factors that influence the behavior of wildfires, namely meteorology, fuels, and topography. The course covers the analysis and prediction of fire behavior, the use of decision-support tools, and the interpretation of fire spread scenarios, thereby supporting prevention, suppression, and protection strategies. The training emphasizes practical application in operational contexts and an understanding of extreme fire behavior situations within the framework of the Integrated Rural Fire Management System (SGIFR).

This position is intended for candidates with education or professional experience, preferably in the fields of civil protection, wildland fire management, the environment, forestry, safety, or related fields. It is recommended that candidates have prior knowledge of operational organization, wildland fire management, or civil protection.

This micro-credential is intended for professionals and personnel involved in the integrated management of rural fires, civil protection, and the prevention and suppression of rural fires, who wish to acquire or deepen their skills in fire behavior analysis.

The "Fire Behavior" Microcredential provides technical and professional development for agents and technicians involved in the integrated management of rural fires, civil protection, and the prevention and suppression of rural fires. The knowledge acquired can be applied within the operational structures of the Integrated Rural Fire Management System (SGIFR), municipal and regional civil protection services, fire departments, public agencies related to forestry and the environment, entities responsible for land management, and technical teams focused on analysis and operational decision support. The training enables participants to develop skills in interpreting fire behavior, using predictive tools and models, identifying situations of extreme behavior, and defining suppression and protection strategies appropriate to operational conditions. It also constitutes a relevant specialization for senior technicians, field personnel, consultants, and researchers involved in the prevention, analysis, planning, and operational management of wildfires.

Assessment will be ongoing and focused on the practical application of the knowledge acquired, with an emphasis on the analysis of real-world scenarios, problem-solving, and the operational interpretation of fire behavior.
