The Postgraduate Diploma (Advanced Specialisation) in BANKING MANAGEMENT, INSURANCE AND FINANCIAL MARKETS, as an innovative course on the international scene, in view of the globalisation of international trade, communication, the financial, insurance and transport markets, responds to the demands raised by the evolution of economic integration processes and international cooperation, as well as the surrounding constraints, both political and legal, and economic, financial, social and cultural, in the context of the growing complexity of International Relations. The desire and need of many graduates and technicians to deepen their scientific and technical knowledge in the fields of banking, insurance, the stock exchange and other financial markets has thus been met, given the appropriate investment strategies, internationalisation and international cooperation in the context of the globalised world power system. Accordingly, the Postgraduate Diploma (Advanced Specialisation) in BANKING MANAGEMENT, INSURANCE and FINANCIAL MARKETS represents a highly interdisciplinary and practical component and contains the most important scientific areas of study in these fields of knowledge. Students of this PG will have privileged access to the activities of CEERI-Centre for European Studies and International Relations and OLAE-Observatório Lusófono de Atividades Económicas and the CPLP-Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries, given that the Lusófona Group is a Consultative Observer of the CPLP. Anyone in one of the following situations may apply to attend the course: - hold an academic degree (bachelor's and/or master's) or legal equivalent; - have professional experience and a curriculum vitae that attests to their ability to attend a postgraduate course, as recognised by the Course Director; - hold high-level positions in organisations (national, public, private and international) or companies directly or indirectly linked to the scientific areas in question, as confirmed by the course directorate.

The main purpose of the (Advanced Specialisation) in BANKING MANAGEMENT, INSURANCE and FINANCIAL MARKETS is to contribute to the scientific and technical training and qualification in these scientific areas of many graduates and other staff who want and need to deepen their knowledge in order to better respond to the demands of the job market, the demands of globalised society and the national and international market, in the scientific areas in question. Students taking this postgraduate course (Advanced Specialisation) will acquire the skills and competences to: - Recognise the conditioning regulations and commands of the Business Management environment in the areas of Banking, Insurance, Stock Exchange and International Financial Markets, as well as Investment and Internationalisation Strategies; - Identify, establish and implement profitable investment and international business strategies in the areas of Banking, Insurance, Stock Exchanges and Financial Markets; - Undertake standards of business excellence in organisations and companies dedicated to the areas of Banking, Insurance, Stock Exchanges and Financial Markets; - Manage advanced foreign exchange, finance, logistics, insurance, marketing and international investment operations with excellence.

The Postgraduate Diploma (Advanced Specialisation) in BANKING MANAGEMENT, INSURANCE and FINANCIAL MARKETS enables students to continue their training in these or similar scientific areas, namely to continue, under the terms of the law, with 2nd cycle studies leading to a Master's degree.
