Resume

I am an Assistant Professor at the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon. My academic trajectory includes a Ph.D. focused on prosodic abilities in children with autism, followed by postdoctoral research consolidating an interdisciplinary approach to socio-communicative development. My research advances knowledge on typical and atypical language development, including prosody, pragmatics, and literacy, with particular emphasis on the structural and developmental interplay between language and executive functions. I have authored 28 peer-reviewed publications in international journals and five book chapters (h-index = 15, Google Scholar). In 2025, my research was distinguished with the ULisboa / Caixa Geral de Depósitos Scientific Award, recognizing its scientific excellence and translational relevance. My work integrates quantitative research designs, psychometric validation, and intervention development. I currently serve as Principal Investigator of an FCT-funded Exploratory Project examining language development in children born during the COVID-19 pandemic and developing a data-driven risk calculator for early identification, and have previously contributed as a team member to other competitively funded research projects. I have also led the development and adaptation of assessment tools for European Portuguese, including Proso-Quest and the EP–CSBS DP™ Infant–Toddler Checklist, strengthening early identification and evidence-based intervention in educational and clinical contexts. Alongside research, I am actively engaged in supervision and advanced training and maintain a strong commitment to knowledge transfer and clinical application, reinforced by previous coordination of a university-based neuropsychological service for children.
