This UC aims to develop knowledge in the field of forensic psychological assessment with adults - victims and offenders. In more detail, it is intended to train students with the theoretical-practical skills necessary for the psychological assessment activity in the forensic context, namely, regarding the definition of evaluation procedures, assessment strategies, and instruments used and the elaboration/writing of psychological assessment reports.

Objectives
OA1: Explain the framing and conceptual evolution of psychological assessment in general, and forensic psychological assessment in particular, addressing ethical, technical, and legal issues; OA2. Enable students with the theoretical and practical skills necessary for the planning and implementation of assessment methodologies appropriate to the specificities of the cases; OA3. Develop students’ skills in the elaboration of forensic reports (objectives, specificities and recommendations); OA4. Develop and train critical thinking skills regarding assessment tools and protocols in this context

Teaching methodologies and assessment
The innovative teaching methodologies for this format include collaborative learning and problem-based learning. These approaches actively involve students, allowing them to apply theoretical concepts, collaborate with peers, and analyse real-world problems. These methodologies aim to promote knowledge in the applied aspect of forensic psychology, specifically in the areas of victim and offender assessment.
