The research project "AGRRIN – Generative Bodies: from Aggression to Insurgency. Contributions to a Decolonial Pedagogy," developed by the Department of Museology at the Universidade Lusófona, in collaboration with CeIED – Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies in Education and Development, is a pioneering initiative funded by the FCT - Foundation for Science and Technology, under the 2022 Research and Funding Competition for all scientific areas.

AGRRIN focuses on identifying and combating racial inequalities in Portugal, analysing the processes of racialisation that permeate society and proposing alternatives through decolonial education.

In conjunction with the UNESCO Chair "Education, Citizenship and Cultural Diversity" at the Universidade Lusófona, AGRRIN aims to integrate critical and inclusive pedagogical approaches in educational and museological environments. This project assumes education as a tool for social transformation, betting on a dialogical and decolonial perspective, with the goal of promoting the revision of school content and the critical curation of exhibitions.

The project also collaborates with the Research and Learning Communities (ReLeCo) of Memory, Citizenship & Sociomuseology and Socio-Artistic Studies for Decoloniality and Sustainability, reflecting an interdisciplinary and collaborative commitment.

AGRRIN operates at the interface between education and sociomuseology, addressing the challenges of racialisation and proposing solutions that promote social justice. Its impact is felt both in schools and in museums, where new narratives and pedagogical practices are developed to overcome microaggressions and racialised relations, building fairer and more critical spaces.

This initiative not only aims to transform educational and museological spaces but also seeks to engage diverse communities in creating an inclusive environment where all voices are heard and respected. AGRRIN thus represents an important step in the fight against racial discrimination, promoting a more equitable and conscious future in Portugal.
